Sealions, or as named "Steller's northern sealions", are the largest long-eared seals of the Northern Pacific. Their numbers are rapidly declining, and today there are only three places in the world where you can see these rare animals in their natural environment. One of them is here on Sakhalin, in the town of Nevelsk on the southwestern coast of the island. This is where one of the most unusual excursions on Sakhalin begins - a boat trip to the sealion's rookery, a rare marine animal listed in the Red Book of Russia.
